Knight Owl
My last project I made at Gnomon. I decided to do a piece based off of the childrens book, Knight Owl by Christopher Denise, so I could try and replicate in 3d that story telling and whimsical feel that childrens books have.

The Beginning
Concept
This concept comes from Christoper Denise's childrens book, Knight Owl. I chose this illustration to recreate into 3D because I like that watercolor style and I also wanted to make something with a storybook feeling.

The Owl
For the Owl I sculpted him in zbrush and then I rigged and posed him in maya. I then used Yeti to groom him. I also used cards from some of the yeti guides to make the feathers. It was a challenge for me to get the hair and shape of the owl right and it took me a few trys.
