Beware of the Bear.

This is my third demo reel project that I worked on at Gnomon. It is based off of Andrey Osadchikh concept. I used this concept to create a piece that included many animated elements like the Light, bear and the kid.

Breakdown

Software Used:

Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, Yeti, Vray, Nuke, Adobe Premire, Advanced Skeleton

I am responsible for all aspects,

except edited Mixamo animation on the boy and Action essential rain animation.

This Breakdown depicts my starting phase from block out to Compositing

The Beginning

Concept

I was drawn to this artwork because of its story telling. I liked the idea of a kid getting ready to battle his giant teddy bear whether it's his imagination or his teddy bear really did come to life. When I found this concept I also saw an opportunity to add animation the the characters

Middle

The Bear

I created this bear by modeling him in maya and then grooming him in yeti. The guides for the groom were made in Houdini first and then later brought into yeti.

It was my first time learning yeti so there were many trials and errors to get the fur how I wanted it.

I also did a very simple rig and animation for this Character.
